Further Information

This absolutely pristine Mk1 Cooper S was first supplied by Neilson Bros. of Kirkcaldy in 1967, what makes this car so special is the stunning detailing coupled with the exceptional condition of the body shell. A huge amount of time & effort has been invested in restoring it to it's original "when it left the factory" condition, this includes items that are not usually on show such as original “old stock” Girling brake hoses with the dimples and original tags.

It also has the original factory crimp type exhaust with the correct wire clamps.  Furthermore, it has the (no longer available) white battery cover strap and the original Fry’s Austin Cooper boot badges which have been re-chromed.  It also has the correct date stamped Lucas starter solenoid, wiper motor and flasher unit etc., along with the correct original Cooper S tags on the carburettors.

The drivers handbook is an original, not a reproduction, and the seat belts have the original tie on tags. It also retains the original wet type ‘hydrolastic’ suspension.

Every replacement part fitted has been thoroughly vetted for authenticity and quality, and in some instances even rejected when not up to the standard of the rest of the car. As a testament to the condition of this cherished classic, it was recently awarded best restoration and best in class at Thirston Classic as well as best in class and best in show at the “Wheels of Yesteryear” show in Lennoxlove.

Fitted with every available factory option, it really is an exceptional example of this incredibly popular car:

Oil Cooler Twin Tanks Sump Guard

4 1/2” wheels

Factory reclining seats (All of which it still retains).

The front seats are genuine factory recliners and not replicas, although they have been re-covered.

The rear seat is original and has been carefully colour matched with correct vinyl dye!

This superb Cooper S also has the following extras:

Broadspeed, “built in dash” Smiths rev counter

Original BMC fire extinguisher

Custom made, overtaking door mirror (removable)

Electronically adjustable CSI Ignition

Special tuning front bump stops & block absorber conversion.

With paintwork subject to a recent full re-spray, it comes complete with an extensive history folder including bills, MOT certificates, tax discs, photocopies of the original log books etc. There’s even an original Austin Mini “Colour Finishes” pamphlet.

A rare opportunity to purchase a beautifully maintained, award winning & authentic Cooper S from the golden era of the Mini.
