The Car Barn are very pleased to offer for sale this Lotus Elan Sprint which was built originally in 1972 as a FHC in orange with white two tone. The original owner kept the car for an amazing 42 years and did 37000 miles in that time. We believe it was then taken off the road in the early 1990s. The original owner sold it to an employee of Christopher Neil who then carried out a full nut and bolt restoration, including converting it into a DHC.
This was a major undertaking and there is a photographic record of the work done. At this time the colour was changed to Lotus Lagoon Blue metallic with Lotus Cirrus White. The engine was rebuilt at this time and there was no need for it to be re-bored or machined thus confirming the cars low mileage.
It then passed through Paul Matty sportscars in 2016.
When the current owner bought it in 2023 there was then a further amount of works completed on the car bringing it to an even higher standard!

'This is a really really good example of a Lotus Elan. It's had a lot of money spent on it over the years and had the right people looking after it! To drive it's amazingly good, it still feels quick and handles beautifully, helped of course by its light weight. I can only imagine what it would have been like to drive one of these in 1972!
