The Car Barn are very pleased offer for sale this 1967 T1 Split Screen Camper.

It is an original factory right hand drive example and fitted out at J.P.  Whites in Sidmouth, to become the 'Devon Caravette' 

This is a 13 window deluxe model, which was offered as an upgrade from the standard microbus and features 2 additional  side windows and the deluxe belt line trim around the swage line. Importantly this a 'walk through' model which means there is a split bulkhead behind the front seats allowing you to talk from the front to the rear without the need to exit the vehicle. 

The van has gone through some light restoration during the years and is in its original colour of Lotus White.

On the interior it has been fully re-upholstered in cream vinyl with contrasting piping and fluting on bed cushions, rear, side facing and front seat cushions and door cars including a new complete full length head liner.

Most of the internal cabinetry is the original Devon Oak, including the original deluxe coat hangers and mirror. As this particular bus was believed to be once owned by a photographer and was used as the transport vehicle for the Pirelli Calendar girls, (although we haven’t been able to verify this) these original vanity extras i.e mini wardrobe length is ideal for mini dresses and the original removable mirror would have been a must!

It has a retro style radio, 240v mains hook up system with inlet socket, 12v USB socket for phone charger, consumer unit underneath rear seat with 1 x 13a socket.

• Gearbox replaced and has only done 3000 miles since.
• Original drum brakes front and rear. 
• New carburettor and tuned.
• New air and glass fuel filter.
• Electronic ignition.
• Cool chrome roof rack and access ladder.
• New chrome window wiper blades.
• New chrome Ariel.
• Battery isolator

Presently the original heater which is designed to run off the heat exchanger from the exhaust system has been disconnected. This was done as a precaution as the previous owners were planning on installing a gas operated system available from the many parts suppliers.

'This is a bit of an unusual vehicle for the Car Barn. The previous owner part exchanged it for a Morgan and when we saw how nice the van is we couldn't help but offer it for sale! It has a nice mix of originality and sympathetic restoration. This could be used for many things from events to nights away. It's in a mostly standard condition and hasn't been lowered unlike many offered for sale.' 

All cars sold at the Car Barn come with a 145 point inspection and a 6 month warranty provided in house.
